To provide a quality nursing education which is geared towards the preparation for creative, useful and Christian member of the society.

GOALS

The college of nursing aims to provide a fully functioning Christian nurse. Such nurse is one who:

  1. Practice skills, knowledge, attitude for the promotion of health, prevention of illness, restoration of health, alleviation of sufferings, FCC College of Nursingassisting clients to face death with dignity and peace.
  2. Develop a sensitive awareness to the health needs of society as well as commitment to the alleviation of problems arising thereof.
  3. Develop a research attitude through the use of nursing process. Such attitude among others leads to the utilization of research findings

ADMISSION AND RETENTION POLICIES

Two-Year Associate in Health Science Education (ASHE) - Effective SY 2003-2004 (Entering First Year/Second Year)
Admission Requirements for New Graduates from High School/Transferees/Graduates of other courses (ASHE Curriculum)

  1. Must have a general average of 85% in high school as evidenced by an original report card.
  2. Must have a general average of at least 2.0 or its equivalent grade for transferees/graduate of other courses as evidence by an original copy of transcript of records.
  3. Must have passed the Mental Ability Test with a cut-off score of 30 points.
  4. Must take the English College Entrance Test with a cut-off score of 34 points. (A score 34 points and above shall proceed to English 101, whereas 33 points and below must take English 100).
  5. Must submit recent original result of the following diagnostic test such as: Chest X-ray result, Hepatitis B screening test, Complete Blood Count, Fecalysis and urinalysis result to the School Physician for evaluation (The above mentioned diagnostics test be conducted at Capiz Emmanuel Hospital, the affiliate hospital of the College. Request form must be obtained from the School Clinic only) with 20% discount.
  6. Must be physically and mentally fit as certified by the School Physician.
  7. Applicants with physical defects should undergo further screening and evaluation however the College of Nursing has the right to refuse admission.
  8. Must possess good moral character certified by the High School Principal/School Head or Guidance Counselor.
  9. Married applicant will be accepted provided he/she must conform to the following requirements:
    • Submit certified photocopy of marriage contract.
    • Should not get pregnant during the entire study if possible. Waiver must be signed by both husband and wife. However, in case she gets pregnant, she will be advised to be on leave for one (1) year and she may continue the following year after her delivery.


RETENTION POLICY (ASHE CURRICULUM)
  1. Must not have two (2) failures in any general education subjects or one (1) major subject.
  2. Must not commit any grace offense as stipulated in the student handbook or the rules and regulations of the College of Nursing.
  3. Single female students who gets pregnant during the course of her study will be dropped from the rolls of the College of Nursing.
  4. Male Student who impregnates a single female student in the course of his study will be dropped from the rolls of the College of Nursing.

N.B.

The College of Nursing has the right to refuse in accepting applicants which have an abnormal laboratory result such as: Pulmonary Tuberculosis, Positive for Hepatitis and other tests must be done only by the School Physician and health recommendation must be forwarded to the College of Nursing.


ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS for the BSN CURRICULUM

(For Entering Third Year Students, Effective SY 2003-2004)

  1. Must have a two-year associate in Health Science Education certificate from FCC-CN with an average of 2.25 and above.
  2. Must have passed the Nursing Aptitude Test with a raw score of 95 points and above to be given Second Semester of the Second Year.
  3. Must have passed the interview and screening procedure conducted by the College of Nursing.
  4. Must be Physically and Mentally fit as certified by the school physician.
  5. Married applicant will be accepted provided he/she must conform to the following requirements:
    • Submit a certified photocopy of the marriage contract.

The following shall be a cause for disqualification in the College of Nursing:

  1. Having two (2) failures in any general education subjects, or one (1) Major subject.
  2. Having committed any grave offenses as stipulated in the student handbook or the rules and regulation of the College of Nursing.
  3. A single female student who gets pregnant during the course of her study will be dropped from the rolls of the College of Nursing.
  4. Male student who impregnate single female students during the course of his study, will be dropped from the rolls of the College of Nursing.
