Developing intercultural communication in a global context, six students from Filamer Christian University, Inc. (FCU) took part in the Virtual Cultural Exchange program of Krida Wacana Christian University (UKRIDA) on November 28, 2025.
The program aimed to deepen cross-cultural understanding through collaboration and integrating the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on how everyday cultural habits connect to global challenges such as sustainability, hunger, education, and responsible consumption.
Among the participants who joined in presenting the topics are Joevan Reliente (AB-IV), who discussed “The Art of Sharing: Food, Guests, and Community Action”, Mia Factolerin (AB-IV), with “How Children Learn Your Culture”, and Rollyn Angelie Oso (AB-IV), who introduced “The Meaning of Success and Role Models in Education.”
Maria Cassandra Arroyo (BSPSYCH-II), Lor Frederick James Aquino (BSCS-IV), and Floreline Andrea Degala (AB-IV) individually presented “Habits of Buying, Saving, and Living Sustainably,” rooted in situations in the Philippines.
The cultural exchange program fostered richer dialogue in guiding small-group discussions and promoting more meaningful interactions, anchored on the goal of FCU to understand culture beyond stereotypes and recognize the importance of building a global peer network.
