Filamer Christian University (FCU) traces its origins to August 1904 when it was established as the Capiz Baptist Home School by Reverend Joseph Robbins and his wife. Their compassionate care for three neglected and homeless children led to the school's inception. Initially, it operated as an orphanage, with its first building gifted by American Women who shared the vision of imparting Christian values.
Over more than a century, FCU has been unwavering in its commitment to providing holistic and relevant education. In recognition of its historical significance, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines declared FCU a Historical Landmark on October 8, 2014.
Today, FCU continues its missionary vision, emphasizing education as a powerful tool for human development. In the 2016-2017 academic year, the Kindergarten department achieved a milestone with the construction of the modern "New Kindergarten Building," meeting DepEd and ACSCU-ACI standards. This facility offers child-friendly classrooms and comfort rooms, fostering a safe and enriched learning environment.
FCU proudly stands as the first and only Private School University in Capiz, while also being an active member of the Association of Christian Schools, Colleges, and Universities Accrediting Council Incorporated (ACSCU-ACI), reflecting its dedication to academic excellence and values-based education in the community.
