Filamer Christian University, Inc. – College of Nursing (FCU-CN) marked a milestone in nursing research as it hosted the 12th Student Nurses Research Symposium (SNRS) and its first international collaborative venture with Universitas Kristen Krida Wacana (UKRIDA), Indonesia, at Roblee Hall on July 15 centered on the theme, “From Inquiry to Impact: Local Research, Global Significance.”

UKRIDA Associate Professor in Nursing Dame Elysabeth Tuty Arna Uly Tarihoran, M.Kep., Sp.Kep., MB, PhD, served as the international keynote speaker, discussing emerging approaches in nursing data analysis and emphasizing the value of stronger questions, sound analysis, and reliable evidence in improving nursing care.

Level III Mayor Aicelle Grace Foyo welcomed guests, faculty members, researchers, and student nurses in here opening messages.

Meanwhile, CN Student Republic Governor Raese Alexin Severo introduced the panel of judges and tabulators, while Clinical Coordinator Atty. Ma. Juna Dieta presented the criteria and mechanics of the research competition.

Student researchers eventually took center stage as they presented their studies through podium, poster, and video presentations, showcasing innovative approaches to emerging healthcare challenges and highlighting the growing role of evidence-based research in nursing practice.

In his closing message, Dr. Gelbert Jan Porque, MAN, RN, Director of Research of Iloilo Doctors College, commended the student researchers for their dedication and underscored the vital role of research in driving improved patient outcomes and healthcare innovation.

“Research is the engine behind every life saved, every improved patient outcome, and every healthcare innovation,” Porque said, urging the students to remain curious, pursue evidence, and continue developing their potential as future nurses and researchers.

Outstanding research presentations and posters were recognized during the awarding ceremony, reinforcing FCU-CN’s commitment to cultivating evidence-based nursing practice and strengthening international collaboration in research and education.

The event underscored how student-led research can create meaningful solutions to healthcare challenges while connecting local nursing initiatives to the broader global research community.
