For Filamerians facing chapters marked by uncertainty, failure, or despair, Christian Emphasis Week (CEW) 2026 opened with a message of hope: the story is not yet over.

Filamer Christian University, Inc. (FCU) officially launched its week-long CEW for the first semester under the theme “Re-Written” during the opening salvo at the FCU Gym, September 14.

Atty. Mark Anthony D.R. Polonan, the Opening Salvo’s preacher, challenged Filamerians to recognize God’s presence even amid difficult seasons and to allow Him to take part in shaping their stories.

“We must be like Joseph, even after grave despair we must never take revenge,” Polonan said.

Drawing from Genesis 50:20, Esther 4:14, and John 10:10, the celebration emphasized faith in God’s purpose and timing, reminding students that their circumstances do not define the ending of their lives.

The preacher echoed the central message of this year’s CEW highlighting that setbacks and hardships may be part of a person’s journey, but they do not necessarily mark its conclusion.

He also urged the audience to look beyond their own struggles and reach out to those around them.

CEW, a semestral tradition at FCU, will continue until September 19 through daily convocations for different departments, providing Filamerians opportunities for prayer, reflection, and spiritual growth.

The Opening Salvo was preceded by a solemn Jericho Walk, that brought hundreds of Filamerians from Basic Education to Higher Education along with faculty and staff of the university.

As the university enters another week of faith-centered activities, CEW 2026 invites Filamerians to see their lives not as finished stories, but as narratives still being written by God.
