Basic Education alumnus, Sam David Andrada, a youth leader, and entrepreneur, has been selected as one of the 18 Participating Youth representing the Philippines in the 50th Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program (SSEAYP).
Jointly implemented by the Cabinet Office of Japan and ASEAN Member States, and executed locally through the National Youth Commission (NYC) under the Office of the President, SSEAYP is an international youth exchange initiative.
From January 3 to February 5, 2027, the Philippine delegation will travel to Japan and participating ASEAN nations.
“This pin does not belong to me alone. It carries the lessons of the mentors who shaped me, the trust of the communities I have had the privilege to serve and work with, and the countless people who reminded me that leadership is not about being seen — it is about being of service,” Andrada shared on his Facebook during his official pinning as a delegate of the country.
The program aims to foster cross-cultural exchange, leadership development, and meaningful discussions on regional issues among youth leaders.
Andrada, passionate about advancing youth development, cultural exchange, and tourism, served as student leader and academic honoree since his elementary and high schools years in FCU.
