Primed with knowledge regarding anti-drugs campaign, Filamer Christian University (FCU) wins 2nd runner-up in the Regional Awarding of Philippines Anti-Illegal Drugs Strategy (PADS) for Higher Education Innovative Awards of the Commision for Higher Education (CHED) held at Robinson’s Place Jaro Iloilo, April 23.
Representing the university, 12 Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD) members namely Mia Factolerin, Joevan Reliente, Neo Janerie Obrigue, Floreline Andrea Degala, Ela May Durana, Renz Marc Barruela, Mica Angela Cortel, Razzelle Joy Bigbig, Ariane Loro, Honnie Lou Dela Cruz and Aaron Matthew Casugbo with their NSTP Adviser Mr. Adam Jesus Bering and the NSTP Secretary Mrs. Darlene Dela Cruz.
“It is such an honor to receive this kind of award, may this award lead us to the next challenge that we take,” Barruela, BKD president, expressed.
Moreover, Capiz State University and University of Antique were declared as champion and 1st runner-up respectively.
Eventually, same entry from FCU became finalist in the national level where NSTP Coordinator Mr. Adam Jesus Bering and OSA Director Rev. Dr. Webster Bedecir attended the awarding last May 17 at CHED Auditorium, Diliman, Quezon City.
PADS ’24 is a program that aims to promote drug-awareness and anti-drugs strategy, lead by the Comission on Higher Education Regional Office in partnership with Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
