FCU conducts Mid-Year Management Review of Operations

To uphold quality standards and assess office performance, Filamer Christian University, Inc. (FCU) held its Mid-Year Management Review of Operational Plans on August 2 at Istorya Forest Garden, Panay, Capiz. The activity was evaluated by members of the Board of Trustees (BOT) and attended by university administrators and office heads.

“We are honored to be evaluated and guided by our Board of Trustees to ensure quality across our operations,” said University President Dr. George Cortel in his welcome message. “This review is a crucial part of our institutional process, helping us identify areas for improvement while also recognizing our strengths.”

A total of 26 academic and non-academic offices presented their operational reports and accomplishments for Academic Year 2024–2025. Each office was given approximately five minutes to defend and highlight their performance metrics, deliverables, and outcomes.

The BOT raised several concerns during the review, pointing to key operational issues such as gaps in coordination regarding equipment requisitions, a decline in enrollment, and the low output in research across some departments.

Despite the challenges, the BOT also commended several offices for outstanding performance in accreditation compliance, international partnerships, community outreach initiatives, and student support services.

“We value this opportunity for reflection and recalibration,” said Vice President for REQA, Dr. Erlyn Beup. “This activity is vital for identifying both strengths and pain points in our operations so that we can move forward strategically.”

The FCU administration and Board of Trustees expressed optimism that the insights gathered from the review will translate into improved operations and stronger institutional outcomes in the coming school year, ultimately creating more opportunities for both the university and its students.
