FCU NSTP places third in CHED’s PADS Best Practices Contest 2025

Filamer Christian University, Inc. (FCU) through its National Service Training Program (NSTP) was honored by Commission on Higher Education (CHED) as third place in the Philippine Anti-Illegal Drug Strategy (PADS) Best Practices Contest during Innovation Awards for Higher Education Institutions in Region VI on December 16, 2025, at the Iloilo Grand Hotel, Iloilo City with the theme “Significant Anti-Drugs Strategies, Projects, and Innovations Implemented by HEIs in Region VI for Academic Year 2024–2025”.

The recognition was received by NSTP Coordinator Adam Jesus Bering along with students Ela May Durana and Angela Marcelino.

FCU’s entry to the PADS Best Practices highlighted some of the most impactful drug prevention and awareness initiatives in the region, further amplifying success stories that inspire sustained and nationwide action.

The contest highlighted innovative and sustainable programs that strengthen awareness, student engagement, and community involvement in the fight against illegal drugs. CHED emphasized that the PADS initiative underscores the vital role of educational institutions in fostering safe, healthy, and drug-free learning environments.

This CHED’s initiative strengthens awareness, collaboration, and innovation among higher education institutions in Region VI, reaffirming CHED’s commitment to fostering a drug-free, healthy, and values-driven academic environment through the Philippine Anti-Illegal Drugs Strategy (PADS).
