Filamer Christian University (FCU) has successfully passed the Stage 1 audit for ISO Educational Organization Management System (EOMS) 21001:2025, following an external assessment conducted by SQC Management System Certification Corp on February 2 to 3, 2026.
In its audit statement, SQC acknowledged FCU’s effective implementation of the Stage 1 certification requirements under the international standard, citing the university’s strong leadership and visible commitment of top management in establishing an effective Educational Organization Management System. Auditors noted that management support was evident from the opening to the closing of the audit.
“Filamer has prepared documents and we congratulate for complying with what is required by the ISO,” lead auditor Dr. Mark Anthony De Vera said as he noted that a detailed audit report will be released to FCU in 10 days.
The audit team also highlighted the competency and awareness of personnel during interviews and discussions, as well as the university’s evident preparations for the assessment. Organized and systematic documentation across most offices was likewise commended, reflecting FCU’s institutional readiness for ISO alignment.
University President Dr. George Cortel described the milestone as a “mark of excellence” emphasizing how Filamer prioritizes standard and quality services to its client.
Additionally, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Minnie Chan acknowledged FCU’s faculty and staff’s cooperation throughout the process, as well as thanking the VP REQA office, Internal Auditors, Quality Assurance Office, and ISO consultant.
“There were resistance at first since this is [something] new to us. But as I have said, we have to learn something from ISO preparation since what we do is all for the good of FCU”
FCU ISO consultant Estrella Buenaventura also acknowledged Filamer’s effort during the preparation and audit phase. “All your hardwork paid off,” she said.
University officials said the audit results will guide FCU’s corrective actions as it prepares for the next stage of ISO EOMS 21001:2025 certification this March, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to quality, inclusivity, and continuous improvement in education.
