Shang Carlo Alapa and Kiann Gee Roxas of Filamer Christian University, Inc. (FCU) brought pride to the Philippines after winning top honors at the 2025 Negeri Sembilan International Dancesport Championship held in Malaysia on August 9.

The duo impressed judges and spectators alike, securing 2nd place in the Novice 1 category and 3rd place in the Novice 2 category, showcasing their skill, precision, and teamwork on an international stage.

“Winning this competition was an indescribable moment, a mix of pure joy, fulfillment, and overwhelming gratitude. All the late nights, sacrifices, and challenges we faced suddenly felt worth it,” he said.

The Negeri Sembilan International Dancesport Championship draws top-tier dancers from across the region each year, serving as a platform for artistic expression, discipline, and cultural exchange.

Alapa and Roxas’ podium finishes mark another milestone for FCU, adding to the university’s growing list of international accolades in the performing arts and sports.

Their success also underscores the rising global presence of Filipino dancers, who continue to make waves in the world of dancesport.
