July 22 marked an important step in the educational journey of FIlamerians as they enjoined in the simultaneous opening of classes in the Basic Education Unit (BEU).
Following orders from Department of Education for early opening of classes, school heads from Kindergarten (Ms. Thelma Balderama), Elementary (Mrs. Fatima Palmes) and Secondary School (Ms. Urla Dela) welcomed new and returning students ensuring everyone that BEU is ready for the new school year.
Each department prepared their opening programs filled with interactive events, school-wide and classroom-based orientations, and psychosocial activities to properly acquaint students about school rules, policies, requirements, and other back-to-school reminders and essentials.
In the opening program of Senior High School, Atty. Chel Diokno, a human rights advocate, made a surprise video greetings to Filamerians emphasizing his appreciation to the value the students give to their education.
“I wish you all the best as we enter a new phases in your educational journey. I am confident that with your help, our history, our culture, and traditions will remain alive for the years to come,” Atty. Diokno said.
Meanwhile, DepEd Roxas City Division visited the school to assess the required documents in the conduct of opening of classes and to check the conduciveness of the classrooms, and readiness of teachers.
