Filameran scribes net wins in RSPC ’24

Filamerians emerged victorious in the Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) Elementary and Secondary Levels after securing awards from five elementary journalists in the individual category, held at the Iloilo Grand Hotel, Iloilo City, May 19-21.

In the Elementary Level, Nigel Drew Andrada achieved 3rd place in Editorial Cartooning and Jashrille Reign Garingo secured 4th place in the English category.

On the other hand, Nhiezel Myrrh Bandejas secured 5th place in Feature Writing in the English category.

Moreover, Eiannah Faye Marcelino placed 7th in the Copyreading and Headlining Writing, and Yannie Andrea Arboleda achieved 8th place in Science and Technology Writing.

They were coached by Gloria Villanueva, Paul Jade Burgos, Maria Joela Lopez, Rosalie Celino, Shaira Villareal, and Cyrel Garingo.

FCU Elementary sent eight delegates to this year’s RSPC, demonstrating a strong commitment to nurturing journalistic talent and skills.

Meanwhile, Schools Division of Roxas City was hailed as the overall first runner-up in the best performing division in elementary level, indvidual category.

On the other hand, for the High School Level, Online Publishing team in English of Filamer Christian University, Inc. Senior High School was hailed as this year’s 5th place winner in the Regional Schools Press Conference held at also Iloilo Grand Hotel, Iloilo City, May 23-25.

The team is composed of Angel Asabasan, Raiza Chloe Tumlos, Niño Hero Villareal, Hillary Jean Dumagpi, and Alyssa Keith Dela Cruz and was coached by SHS teacher and pub adviser Jose Erwin Borbon.

Additional, Fiona Faye Fantilaga pocketed the 2nd place in Pagsulat ng Kolum (Column Writing) in the individual category.

She is coached by SHS teacher Jessa Cagay.
