SP Roxas commended FCU as Deregulated University

Office of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Roxas City passed the Resolution No. 019 – 2025 commending and congratulating Filamer Christian University, Inc. (FCU) for its recent milestone attaining a Deregulated Status granted by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) announced last September 2024. University President Dr. George O. Cortel, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Minnie P. Chan, and Quality Assurance Officer Dr. Eleonor B. Bechayda received the copy of the Resolution during the regular session of the Sangguniang Panlungsod on January 21, 2025.

FCU received its third deregulation merit from CHED on November 24, 2024 becoming one of the only 3 private institutions in Region VI to be granted such status. Receiving Autonomous and Deregulated Status allows universities like FCU greater freedom in decision making such as CHED Special Orders among other, program autonomy, curriculum development and resource management.

Filamer have undergone rigorous and comprehensive evaluations conducted by the CHED from 2019 to 2023 focusing on its educational effectiveness including student performances in board examinations, employability rates, and the alignment of the curricula with industry standards and demands.

According to the resolution, Filamer’s achievement brings pride and honor to the City and Region. The said Resolution was approved last January 14 through the motion of Hon. Paul Ivan Baticados and was unanimously seconded by members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod.

Thank you for this recognition, SP Roxas City! Congratulations, Filamer!
