Filamer Christian University, Inc. (FCU) was recently recognized by the Department of Education (DepEd) for its meaningful contributions to Barra Elementary School through sustained community extension and outreach initiatives.
The award was presented during the 2025 Local Stakeholders Convergence and 7th Division Partners Appreciation Program held on December 3, 2025, at Kapis Mansions, Banica, Roxas City, Capiz.
The citation acknowledges the collaborative efforts of the College of Teacher Education (CTE) and the Graduate Studies Department, whose faculty members, students, and volunteers have consistently supported teachers, learners, and parents.
Through capacity-building trainings, learner-centered activities, and programs that strengthen parental engagement, FCU has helped cultivate a safe, inclusive, and high-quality learning environment.
These initiatives advance key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) by promoting equitable and inclusive learning opportunities, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by reinforcing cooperation between the university, schools, and the wider community.
The plaque was received by Dr. Cheryl Rose Alipongan, CTE Extension Coordinator, and Mrs. Jonadette Bermil, GS Extension Coordinator, both of whom play vital roles in planning, coordinating, and sustaining FCU’s outreach programs.
For FCU, the recognition affirms its commitment to extending its mission beyond the classroom, empowering educators, involving parents, supporting learners, and strengthening communities.
Through initiatives like these, FCU continues to demonstrate how education and partnership can work together to create lasting, positive impact.
