Filamer Christian University (FCU) celebrated its 16th University Day on July 14, bringing together students, faculty, and staff to honor the institution’s journey as Capiz’s first private university and renew its commitment to faith-driven education and transformative leadership.
Held at the FCU Gym, the celebration carried the theme, “Celebrating the Journey Together in Faith and Fortitude,” highlighting the university’s legacy of academic excellence, community service, and nation-building.
University President Dr. George Cortel expressed gratitude for God’s providence and reflected on the university’s milestones, as he shared the complex process the institution had went through in achieving its university status in 2010.
Meanwhile, University Chaplain Rev. Bhart Natuel emphasized the importance of growing together as a community anchored in faith and keeping Christ at the center of the university’s mission.
FCU was granted university status on July 14, 2010, through CHED Resolution No. 186, s. 2010.
