To strengthen camaraderie and foster unity among its employees, Filamer Christian University, Inc. (FCU) held its Employees’ Retreat, spearheaded by the University Chaplain’s Office, at the Roblee Hall on August 7.
The morning session featured a heartfelt sharing activity centered on the theme “Working for the Lord,” where faculty and staff members were divided into groups, each guided by an assigned facilitator.
Employees were given the opportunity to share their insights, experiences, and expectations during the session.
The activity culminated in a poster-making exercise, with a representative from each group presenting their output and sharing the message behind their work.
Concluding the morning session, College of Teacher Education faculty member Jocelyn Aguilar shared a testimony on her 25 years of service at FCU, inspiring the Filamerian community with her moving life story.
“Every step of the way, God gave me signs. That is why, being here in Filamer for so long, is God’s direction for me,” she said.
In the afternoon, Human Resource and Development Center Director and Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Vice President for Administration, Prof. Exequiel Calimutan, introduced key university personnel and welcomed newly hired members of the faculty and staff.
“We welcome you to our workplace, to the Filamerian community. And may we work together in harmony as we face the new school year,” Prof. Calimutan encouraged the employees.
The afternoon session continued with a team-building activity, which engaged employees in various group tasks designed to promote collaboration, communication, and teamwork.
The activities provided employees with opportunities to reflect, build stronger relationships, and work together toward achieving common goals.
The retreat concluded with a renewed sense of fellowship and commitment among the faculty and staff as they begin another school year in service to the Filamerian community.
